We’re happy to announce the release of Tempo Planner 4.1 for JIRA Server. This version offers a variety of new features including the ability to plan your own work on the timeline, new keyboard shortcuts on the timeline, simplified editing of repeatable plans and much more.
Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at what’s new in this release:
Plan your own work in Tempo Planner
Planning can be tedious. So, here’s how we try to make it simpler for you.
You can now plan your own time, as needed, on a Tempo Planner timeline once you have been granted a Work on Issue permission for the project in questions. This feature allows you to plan upcoming work without having to ask your manager to assign or create a plan for you.
All you need to do is drag and drop a an appropriate plan from the backlog on to your swimlane and the plan is created. You can also choose to create a brand new plan by clicking on the desired dates for a plan on your swimlane.
Note that you’ll not be able to plan for other users than yourself unless you’ve been granted the Plan Time permission.

Simplified editing of repeatable plans
You can now edit repeatable plans in Tempo Planner in an easier manner than ever before.
So instead of navigating a long way back on the timeline to the find the original parent plan, you can quickly edit it by selecting one of the more recent repeated plans.
Choose a repeating plan and select Edit parent plan and you’ll be able to make edits to the parent plan. Changes you make on the parent plan will then be reflected in other repeated plans.
We are also working on bringing new powerful reporting features, previously introduced in our new Cloud version, to Server customers. In order to make that happen, we first need to make certain changes to our products infrastructure.
This release also includes changes that are necessary for us to be able to bring those new features from the cloud to the server product. Kindly note that this release contains a number of small improvements and bug fixes. Check out our Tempo Planner 4.1 Release Notes for the full list of improvements and fixes.
