Yesterday we had a visit from an energetic group of 25 teenage girls from a local school in Reykjavik. We were delighted to be a part of the International Girls in ICT Day, here in Iceland, where the women of Tempo shared their experience of working in the tech industry, introduced Tempo and their responsibilities, and explain why we do the things we do.
The Girls in ICT initiative is a global effort to raise awareness on empowering and encouraging girls and young women to consider studies and careers in ICTs. It is a great opportunity for the girls to expand their horizons and for us to change attitudes among young people about the tech sector.
The girls got some refreshments while listening to the women of Tempo, a tour of our headquarters, and a lesson on how scrum teams work through the Ball Point Game. The game was a big success and the girls showed some great potential in Agile practices and could easily do well on a scrum team.
