Here at Tempo we’ve had a chance to play with the latest iteration of Tempo Planner over the past couple of weeks and we couldn’t be more excited to finally be able to share it with you. Tempo Planner 2.0 is not just more of the same (although there’s plenty more of the features you love) – it’s a whole new ballgame.
With Tempo Planner 2.0, we have expanded our array of project planning solutions, strengthened existing solutions, and given you a brand new way to plan for your team and a fresh way of tracking project progress. But no project management tool is an island and in the coming months we will show you how the Tempo suite of tools augment each other to help you reach your business goals.
Enjoy Worry-free Backlog Management with the Team Backlog
The new Team Backlog offers a clear interface with fluid drag-and-drop features that allow you to manage the scope of your iterations, create new iterations, and visualize the work of each team member within a given iteration – all in one place. This way, product managers can better determine if an iteration is feasible or not.
Product Managers can also use the Team Backlog view to manage the content of upcoming versions. If using JIRA Agile, you can also manage the stories in epics in the same manner.
Keep Your Projects Up-to-date with the Program Kanban Board
Our new Program Kanban Board provides another easy way to view multiple related projects, which may span across different business segments and have different drivers. You can get a feel for how projects are progressing and improve your organization’s overall performance. With our Program Kanban Board, you can assign features to teams with a simple drag-and-drop and rest assured that you’re up-to-date on team capacity and performance.
Highest of High-level Planning with the Program Roadmap
Tempo Planner’s Program Roadmap is more detailed and readable than ever. Versions on the Program Roadmap now show the planned features when expanded, and the feature due date is displayed on the timeline.
The Program Roadmap offers high-level planning for larger teams, projects, and team member roles – helping product owners and team leads match short-term and long-term goals with solutions to meet those objectives.
A Sleek and Customizable View with the Tempo Planner Timeline
Here’s an overview of the faster, more agile Tempo Planner Timeline and its range of new view options. Here is a handy breakdown of the different components of the Tempo Planner Timeline.
Plan Item Sidebar
When planning for an individual user in the Plan Item Sidebar, team leads can now specify workload based on hours-per-day as well as by percentage of available work hours. Team leads can also include a custom value in addition to four default options that are provided.
Work Item Sidebar
Team leads can now view unassigned issues in the Work Item Sidebar and drag them to the Tempo Planner timeline. In addition, the team links filter has been moved to the sidebar to filter which issues are displayed.
Timeline Date Row
You can now view team timeline by days in addition to the existing week and month view by toggling the options in the date row.
In the member column, you will see that some features have been moved around and given a visual make-over. The role filter has been moved from the sub-header to the team row. Individual team member rows are now more compact, allowing for more members to be displayed at a given time. Finally, items in the team member row display the item description if available.
Timeline Header allows you to collapse or expand the version row and view only the ones from linked JIRA projects and versions with start and release dates will now appear as continuous blocks.
