Press Release: TM Software Introduces a Full Project and Portfolio Management Solution for Atlassian’s JIRA

September 25, 2013 (Reykjavik, Iceland) — TM Software, creator of the award winning Tempo Timesheets add-on for Atlassian’s project management and issue tracking platform, JIRA, today announced a suite of project and portfolio management (PPM) solutions for JIRA, including Tempo Timesheets, Tempo Planner, and Tempo Books. Each Tempo add-on can be used alone or in tandem with other Tempo products in the product portfolio offering. However, as a full product suite, Tempo Timesheets, Tempo Planner, and Tempo Books round out JIRA as a full professional services solution for JIRA.

In today’s environment, an increasing demand for business agility forces firms to adapt. Manual data entry and slow feedback loops from planning-as-usual methodologies do not allow firms to pivot as business circumstances change. Today’s organizations need to see and trust information as it develops to make decisions that will help them surpass their competition. A one-size-fits all approach no longer suffices, but the need to adopt lean and agile processes makes choosing tools more difficult for businesses.

Tempo’s suite of PPM tools is designed to serve as a flexible hybrid solution that handle the day-to-day work for both waterfall and agile projects and teams, yet also convey aggregated information for more strategic planning. They cater to the lighter-weight/lean governance processes that agile projects require, while offering the rich resource forecasting features, what-if prioritization scenarios, and multiple capabilities for discerning business value.

TM Software’s new Tempo Books add-on brings new meaning to tracking value in JIRA by enabling teams to flexibly budget costs, designate rates, and manage actual costs and expenses for customer billing. It also provides business analytics with real-time and ad hoc data for adjustments, forecasting, and analysis.

New Teams and Accounts functionality threads the Tempo product suite together, providing richer and more diverse data and reporting capabilities as more Tempo add-ons are used.

Tempo’s professional PPM suite for JIRA is scalable, both from an organizational and a demand perspective. Tempo’s add-ons are designed to competently support different types of work environments, addressing simple work management as well as sophisticated business-driven project needs. They support project teams, project management, resource management, portfolio management, and business sponsors and steering committees with robust resource, time, and financial management capabilities to help organizations stay on track, improve communication and transparency, increase ROI on projects, and generate greater EBITDA.

  1. Hi,
We currently use Tempo (Timesheets) and looking at Tempo’s new offerings and very excited about getting a trials for Tempo Planner and Tempo Books.

Are they already available for trial \ purchase (for on demand) and if not when can we expect them to be?

    Regards,

    To whom it may concern,

I am the Director of Project Management for our company. We are currently undertaking a process redesign and moving to heavier use of Jira. I am coordinating to integrate Tempo Timesheets and would like to integrate Tempo Planner as well. Can you please confirm whether any spots are left to join the Tempo Planner Beta? We have a one to two month “proof of concept” phade that would be ideal to use for setup and training of Team Planner to the wider organization.

    Regards,

      Hi Jesus,

Yes, we have spots left for our early access users. I’ve sent you an email with early access to the Tempo Planner.

  3. Ray Scott says:

I would like to understand if TEMPO planner can support Program and Portfolio level reporting, ie Project X is part of a Portfolio (IT Projects) and the Portfolio reports into a Program level such as Company IT facilities? I can see the Project support and the teams within a project but cannot see the other high levels.

    Ray Scott

    • Hi Ray,

We are focusing on efforts now on the program level. The first part of that effort was released in Planner 1.1 but we will be rolling out more program level features over the next months.

If you would like to chat with us about your requirements, then feel free to send us a line at support@tempoplugin.com and we can take it from there.

      Best,
      Viðar (Tempo)
