We have some awesome customers representing a variety of industries around the globe. Here are some of their stories on how they’re using Tempo Timesheets, how Tempo has provided a solution for their business needs, and how their employees feel about using it.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND THE COMPANY
I am a Quality Assurance/Systems Administrator at my company. I manage all systems and perform quality control analysis on our software. The name of the organization I work for is Arecon Data and it operates in the Energy/Oil & Gas software development.
Arecon Data has five employees, and our headquarters are located in Oklahoma City. Our product is Oil Country OS/Tally Wizard. This software provides granular inventory management of a company’s pipelines and other assets.
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER TEMPO TIMESHEETS?
One of our former developers recommended JIRA while we were using a system called “ZOHO” that wasn’t meeting our development team’s needs. We bought JIRA through the Atlassian Marketplace. A Tempo Timesheets trial plugin was installed in our initial installation of JIRA.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN USING TEMPO TIMESHEETS?
WERE YOU PREVIOUSLY USING ANY OTHER TOOLS FOR TIME TRACKING, RESOURCES PLANNING, AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT? IF SO, WHAT PROMPTED YOU TO MAKE THE SWITCH TO TEMPO?
We were using JIRA’s built-in timesheets. We continued using Tempo Timesheets because it had the following features:
1. Custom reports in a slew of formats
2. Real-time time tracking
3. Easy-to-use interface
4. Easy to setup and administer
5. Aesthetically pleasing report layout
HOW DO YOU USE TEMPO TIMESHEETS?
Our developers almost refuse to log their time, but Tempo Timesheets makes the process so easy to track and monitor our developers and their logged time that there’s no excuse for them not to log their time.
WHAT MAIN PURPOSE(S) WOULD YOU SAY TEMPO SERVES FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION?
Time tracking and billing for our customers. Our customers enjoy the formatting of our reports. The “Non-Billable” field (available in Tempo’s Report views) also comes in handy to distinguish billable versus non-billable time.
ARE THERE ANY SPECIFIC FEATURES THAT YOUR TEAM FREQUENTLY USES?
I frequently use the real-time time tracker because I can never really remember when I started working. I also get interrupted occasionally, so the pause button comes in handy as well. I run weekly timesheets to audit our developers every week before we bill at the end of the month.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST CHANGE IN YOUR ORGANIZATION SINCE YOU’VE STARTED USING TEMPO TIMESHEETS?
We can actually bill our customers for the custom development we code into our application for them. It has also brought to our attention the actual cost of having some (trouble) customers who frequently have issues that don’t really exist. With Tempo Timesheets, we can be confident (after financial analysis) in letting certain customers go who cost us money.
HOW WOULD YOU SAY YOUR EMPLOYEES ARE FEELING ABOUT USING TEMPO TIMESHEETS?
So they’re not thrilled that it records all of their work, but overall, the increased transparency is a good thing for our company. On a side note, I’m glad Tempo Timesheets will accept time logging from the Edit Issue screen in JIRA as well as the standard method.
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL ANOTHER COMPANY ASKING ABOUT TEMPO TIMESHEETS?
I would highly recommend it if they are in software development and have the same issues that we used to have with developers logging their time. I would also mention that it gave us a professional impression when billing other companies.
