Tempo Plugin looking back 2010

In 2010 we had 8 major releases with lots of new features and enhancements.

Here are just a few highlights we’d like to touch upon as we reflect on the past year’s achievements:

UI Overhaul

We started with a total overhaul of the JIRA 3.X look and feel, migrating towards a JIRA 4 environment.

Team Timesheet

A list of available teams was incorporated and displayed below the Team Timesheet header. Clicking on a Team name allows users to view all members’ logged time.

Internationalization – Yes, we speak French and German

The following default languages are now fully supported in Tempo:

  • French (France)
  • German (Germany)

GreenHopper integration

In addition to adding project and component views to Tempo, we’ve also integrated key reports with GreenHopper. This helps answer critical questions about a team’s commitment and shows where and how your team is spending their time. It’s a real-world overview for real-world projects.

JIRA Studio Version

The release of Tempo’s JIRA Studio version has added support for:

  • Billing
  • Salary administration & sophisticated time-tracking
  • Cost reporting capabilities
  • Timesheet and billing report approval process
  • API connector for 3rd party systems

Users can now take advantage of innate timesheet approval upon completion required work for a given period.

Worked Hours vs Billed Hours

With the development of this feature, Tempo administrators have been given an option to modify billed hours in User and Billing Reports. A column of billed hours has also been added to the report’s Excel export display.

We’ve doubled the size of the Tempo team currently working hard on its biggest release to date, Tempo 6, to be announced in January or February 2011. The release will include major enhancements on the UI with more features and flexibility, setting the tone for 2011. We’re also building a new module for Tempo that will enable better planning and resource allocation. Stay tuned for news and a preview of what’s ahead.
